"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Pablo Picasso

When I was a child, I loved drawing but never pursued it as a career. My working life was spent mainly in HR and after retraining at KLC School of Design, I began working for a local interior design company and spent 12 happy years there.

Like many people, I re-evaluated my work/life balance during the pandemic and I decided that I wanted to spend more time doing things which gave me enjoyment, rather than employment and I stopped working in August 2022.

I've always been creative, and I invested in some watercolours, initially painting botanicals - until I discovered coloured pencils. With coloured pencils I can create the realism I love - and being to combine that with my love of animals is a match made in heaven for me!

When not drawing, I love to travel and we're lucky to have visited some amazing places. The most special trip of all has to be a safari in Tanzania. It was such a privilege to see wild animals in their natural habitat, an experience I'll never forget. It was so emotional watching the migration.

I live in Chineham (Hampshire) with my husband and whilst we don't currently have any animals (we've had cats for years), I'm working on getting a dog! I'm also scared of horses - the image above is a horse my sister looks after, along with 2 of her own. I was less comfortable with that photo opportunity than the horse!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please do get in touch - I'd love to hear from you!
